How Can severe Blood In Stool Be Treated?

I am experiencing mucous stool with fresh blood following a very large but normal soft amount of stool accompanied by severe cramping. Sure Indo have a hemorrhoid or two. Also have mild diverticulitis. Normally take fiber capsules. What diet should I have and any other tips.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a hemorrhoidal bleed only. However, it is better to get evaluated to rule out other possibilities like colon cancer. Consult a gastroenterologist and plan for a colonoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
